The Company Men (2010)
Starring Ben Affleck, Kevin Cosner, Chris Cooper and Tommy Lee Jones, this film follows the story of Bobby Walker (Affleck) whose company is downsizing. After being fired, his life of country clubs and fancy cars slowly slips away. On the other hand, the CEO of the company sees no problems with the downsizing and is not at all affected or suffering. The film is ultimately about people who take their identity from their jobs and the need to adapt in a constantly changing world.
Office Space (1999)
This is a quirky, cult classic comedy about Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) who hates his job. He works in IT and stares at his desk rather than doing work. When his girlfriend convinces him to go to hypnotherapy, the doctor dies in the middle of the session, leaving Peter relaxed. He is uninhibited, blunt and no longer shy and has a new outlook on life. He plays hooky, gets a promotion, and even causes some trouble he did not expect to spark.
No Place to Go will play at the Jackie Liebergott Black Box at the Emerson/Paramount Center from Feb 20-22. For more information and tickets, visit our website here.
