One of the defining characteristics of a Bedlam Theatre Company production is they often have four actors play every single role in the play. The results are pure mayhem, hilarity, and a frenetic, new energy brought to even the most well-known plays. Artistic director Eric Tucker admits that this feature of the group originated as a way to produce theatre on the cheap (“When you’re starting a company and you don’t have a lot of money, it’s just less people to pay”); now the four actor format is something that brings fans coming back for more and more Bedlam.
“Anyone who listens to the eminently sane and persuasive voices of Bedlam is destined to become a convert.” – The New York Times
